Livan is Never the Answer

There is thinking outside the box, and then there is just stupidity. From nymag.com:

It’s come to this for manager Jerry Manuel: He’s toying with the idea of using pitcher Livan Hernandez not just as a pinch hitter, but as a corner infielder. (Hernandez apparently loves the idea, and even took grounders at third during their last homestand.)

Livan’s career ops+ = 42 (and this year it is a spectacular -27). While 42 may be the answer to life, the universe and everything (and, to be fair, better than Argenis Reyes), Livan in the infield isn’t the answer to the Mets issues. Unless it stops him pitching.
